Wastewater Treatment

Responsibilities
 
The Wastewater Treatment Division of the Water Resources Department operates and maintains the town-owned Wastewater Treatment Plant on Two Mile Creek Road. The plant is capable of treating up to 75 million gallons per day of wastewater from the Town of Tonawanda, the City of Tonawanda, and the Village of Kenmore. 

In addition, Wastewater Treatment Plant personnel operate and maintain eight sewage pumping stations throughout the town. A state- and federal-approved Pre-Treatment Program, staffed by town personnel, monitors all the industrial and commercial sewage discharges into the town collection system.
