For the 26th consecutive year, the Town of Tonawanda has been named a 2022 Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation to honor its commitment to effective urban forest management. The town achieved the recognition by meeting the program's four requirements: maintaining a tree board or department, having a tree care ordinance, dedicating an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita, and hosting an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.

The exterior of the Aquatic & Fitness Center (AFC) is about to get a dramatic makeover. The town board has approved a public art project which will bring to life the front of the AFC, which faces Sheridan Drive.
Buffalo Artist Cassandra Ott submitted the winning bid, one of close to 30 that were considered by the Town’s Youth, Parks & Recreation Art Group. Cassandra has painted several large-scale murals including one outside Alumni Arena at the University at Buffalo North campus and a block long mural that welcomes visitors to Buffalo’s Hydraulic District.
Grant funding for the mural was secured by Assemblyman William Conrad. Work on the mural is expected to begin soon and should take a few weeks to complete.
NO PARKING SIGNS: For those streets that are in the process of being repaved in the Town and have "No Parking Here Today" signs on both sides of the street, be advised that the Town WILL NOT be ticketing cars in the street this weekend to enable the residents to enjoy cookouts and parties with families and friends on what appears to be a beautiful Memorial Day weekend.
NOTE: All cars need to be OFF THE STREET by 6:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 30. Failure to get your car off the street by 6:00 a.m., could result in the car being ticketed or towed.
On behalf of the entire Town Board, I want to welcome you to the Town of Tonawanda website! Whether you are a resident or business owner who frequently visits the site for various forms or for information on public events, or someone who is visiting the site for the first time, we hope you find this site helpful.
