Erie County District Attorney and former Tonawanda Town Attorney John Flynn was recently selected by the National District Attorney Association to sit on a joint task force between The National Association of Counties (NACo) and the National Sheriffs' Association (NSA) to recduce the tendencey for jail inmates to reoffend, through continuity of health care services.
The new task force partners county officials, sheriffs, prosecutors, judges, public defenders and behavioral health partners to develop a coordinated response to the challenges faced by inmates who are blocked by Federal policies to receive the necessary treatment and other services to transition back into society.
District Attorney Flynn said "It is my hope that I will be able to help find a solution to an issue that has plagued the corrections system not only here in Erie County but around our country."
We congratulate DA Flynn on his appointment and wish him success in finding solutions to this critical issue.
