On Scene Accident Investigations

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains accident, commercial vehicle enforcement, DWI, recovered property, and Service Bureau staff personnel records.
Maintains traffic files on all Town streets.
Coordinates accident investigations, commercial vehicles enforcement, and DWI roadblocks.
Investigates and/or refers traffic complaints to the proper agency and takes appropriate corrective action.
Purchase and maintain patrol equipment, i.e. vehicles, radar, scales, breathalyzer, radios & lights, alco-sensors, tint meters, flares, accident investigation equipment, etc.
Train, assign and equip crossing guards.
Train, assign and equip police matrons.
Serve as liaison to various other traffic safety agencies and committees.
Conduct annual auction of unclaimed recovered property.
