Responsibilities

As a Town elected, record-keeping officer, the town clerk and staff are responsible for the preparation, execution, and archiving of all Town Board documents as prescibed by New York State law and Town Code.

These duties include: 
  • Archiving Town Board documents, official proceedings, ordinances, and resolutions.
  • Administering birth and death certificates
  • Administering marriage licenses 
  • Receiver of town property taxes, and water bills.                         

  • Administering the block party approval processing
  • Administering dog licenses
  • Publicizing of legal notices                              
  • Administering hunting and fishing licenses
  • Recording official documents 
  • Accepting Passport applications           
  • Administering amusement, games of chance and Bingo licenses
  • Administering Snow Removal Permits 
  • Providing Notary Public services
  • Administering Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests 
  • Administering handicap parking tags                 
  • Processing pawnbrokers, scrap processor and private waste collection licenses
  • Administering going out of business licenses
