The Wastewater Treatment Division of the Water Resources Department operates and maintains the town-owned Wastewater Treatment Plant on Two Mile Creek Road. The plant is capable of treating up to 75 million gallons per day of wastewater from the Town of Tonawanda, the City of Tonawanda, and the Village of Kenmore. In addition, Wastewater Treatment Plant personnel operate and maintain eight sewage pumping stations throughout the town. A state- and federal-approved Pre-Treatment Program, staffed by town personnel, monitors all the industrial and commercial sewage discharges into the town collection system.

Water and Sewer Maintenance Division
The Water and Sewer Maintenance Division of the Water Resources Department maintains all of the underground infrastructure that keeps the water flowing, both clean and dirty. The entire water distribution network, including water lines, valves, hydrants, meters and backflow prevention is maintained by Water and Sewer personnel. The sanitary and storm sewer collections systems are cleaned, televised, monitored and repaired by our Water and Sewer crews on a continuous basis. Much of our repair work is accomplished under the most difficult weather conditions imaginable, during all hours of the day or night.
