About

The Town of Tonawanda proudly holds a 5K Run every Spring.  With the run taking place in May, favorable temperatures and weather are always expected.  The USATF Sanctioned run begins right in the parking lot of one of the Town’s most prized facilities, The Aquatic and Fitness Center.

Our certified course leads participants through various residential streets and also runs parallel to Elmlawn Cemetery for an extended period of time.  Once all runners and walkers have finished, they are welcomed with food and refreshments under our covered tent.  Prizes are given out to the first overall male and female, plus awards to the top three in each of the following groups (male and female): 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 and 80 plus (no duplicate awards).

Drawing about 200 plus participants, the Town’s 5K run is a great venue to get a work out as well as socialize with friends and family!

Want to Volunteer or Donate?

Every year the run requires multiple volunteers to help with directing traffic, as well as handing out water and post race refreshments.  If you're interested in volunteering, read our information sheet and give us a call at 876-7424 to let us know we can count you in.

If you can't make it to help out on race day, we raffle off an assortment of prizes to our runners and provides food for all the participants.  If you think you would be willing and able to help out in one of these ways that would be appreciated!

With any questions, contact race director, Andy Page by phone at 876-7424 or by email at .
