A special permit is required to hunt wild turkey.

Duck Stamps
All persons 16 years of age or older hunting migratory waterfowl must possess both a Federal Migratory Bird Hunting Stamp (except for woodcock, snipe, gallinules, coots, crows or rails) validated by their signature on the face of the stamp (available for $15 at most post offices) and a New York State small game or sportsman license (except for persons not required to have a hunting license).

Minors between 12 and 15 years of age may hunt migratory waterfowl only with a New York State junior hunting license unless exempt.
