Town Utilities
The Town of Tonawanda owns, operates and maintains their own water, wastewater and storm sewer systems. These systems are maintained by primarily the Water Resources Department. Our department assists the Water Resources Department with capital improvement project for these systems as well as storm water management.

Other utilities in town include electrical distribution (National Grid), gas distribution (National Fuel Gas) and telephone and cable (Verizon and Time Warner franchises). These utilities utilize the public right-of-way to deliver their services and are regulated by the New York State Public Service Commission. The Technical Support Department coordinates with these utilities in their projects. We also manage the billing for all town departments related to gas usage and handle billing related to street light and traffic signal energy usage. The town purchased natural gas and electricity through a bulk purchasing consortium, managed by Erie County
